Indirect Team Leader
Reporting to the Assembly Shop Manager in the Joinery Department, you will fulfill the necessary requirements within the Department to meet the Company’s objectives by providing effective leadership to ensure a motivated team and a workstation that enables the manufacturing of high-quality components.
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain quality and adhere to quality standards at all times.
- Maintain stable production-delivery.
- Manage timekeeping and attendance.
- Task assignment to team members.
- Achievement of health and safety standards.
- Implement appropriate corrective action where necessary.
- Update activity boards on required build schedule.
- Reduce defects at hand over of parts.
- Ensure daily delivery cycle requirements and hand over dates are met.
- Manage and control issuing and receiving of parts and consumables
- Drive Continues Improvements within department.
- Manage and maintain 5’s Implementations.
- Maintain training files monthly
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum: Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 qualification
- Ideal: National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Production Management/Engineering or related field.
- Ideal: Trade Certificate / knowledge of solid wood
- Experience: At least 3-4 years production related experience.
- Thorough knowledge and experience of all aspects of a Carpentry, Joinery and Cabinet Making
- Good communication skills both verbal and written.
- Able to work weekends and overtime.
- Able to work under pressure.
- Display initiative and lead by example.
- Have a thorough understanding of the quality condition within the company.
- Work to a fixed Production Schedule.
- Able to understand Drawings and Lay up schedules.
COMPETENCIES:
- Good leadership, planning, organising, communication and control skills.
- Able to motivate staff to meet desired outcomes.
- Decision Making.
