New Projects Co-Ordinator

The New Projects coordinator is responsible for all activities related to supplier on-boarding, cost management and negotiation, procurement of BOM parts, production consumables and Syspro maintenance for new projects. In addition to this, the coordinator is responsible for continuously identifying, evaluating potential for consolidation of supply and cost saving initiatives.


KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:

New Supplier On-Boarding

  • Manage the supplier onboarding process
  • Write up tender documentation
  • Write up SLA’s and supply contracts
  • Ensure all company documents and requirements are fulfilled
  • Carryout site Audits on all projects to ensure full compliance to all R&C requirements

Cost Management:

  • Continuously keep track of market trends and movements
  • Perform alternative supplier costing comparisons when required.
  • Negotiate price betterment on increased demand
  • Participate in the cost management process of New Product Development to ensure budgeted cost projections of new boats (material) is not exceeded.

New Project Co-ordination

  • Take brief from Project leads.
  • Liaise with all Project stakeholders to ensure full commercial compliance is achieved
  • Provide a procurement resource for all new projects, including sourcing new suppliers, or bringing sourcing strategy of New Project Development in line with company sourcing strategy.
  • Ensure all required commercial and logistical requirements are upheld and engage with other R&C departments where required
  • Report back to Procurement Manager any irregularities and / or concerns
  • Sign off on completion of Projects, ensuring documentation is recorded and closed

Consolidation of Supply

  • Identify opportunities to source new parts from within list of preferred suppliers
  • Carry out development projects with suppliers to uplift standards to adhere to market requirements
  • Identify opportunities for use of common parts

Project Management

  • Continuously identify cost saving projects
  • Evaluate and action relevant cost saving projects
  • Report on cost savings
  • Determine & investigate future supply sources and technology partners for future projects and new technology to be planned.

Ad Hoc

  • Perform ad-hoc tasks as and when required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum qualification: Grade 12 / NQF level 4 qualification
  • Ideal qualification: Relevant BSc or BTech Degree, Preferred Additional: Diploma in Logistics, Finance or Marketing
  • At least 3 – 5 experience in procurement.
  • Relevant Knowledge of accounting and financial documentation.
  • Relevant Knowledge of supply chain management.

  • Be flexible, adaptable, able and willing to modify activities and direction with an ever-changing business environment.
  • Knowledge of boat systems.
  • Knowledge of technical measurements, procedures with the ability of assessing technical tenders.
  • Ability to write tender documents.
  • Ability to take full responsibility and accountability as per the scope of work.
  • Must be a diligent person with a high regard of mutual respect.
