TECHNICAL LINE TRAINER
Reporting to the Tooling Manager, the Technical Line Trainer will fulfil all the necessary requirements with regards to equipping staff with the knowledge, practical skills and motivation to carry out work-related tasks. To be involved in continuous improvement projects to optimise the efficiencies and uplift the skill levels of the company’s workforce.
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:
-Identify training and development needs on the lines and within departments by conducting Skills Audits and regular consultations with Line / Department Managers;
-Assist and conduct skills audit and implement skills matrix for the line to develop and evaluate employees’ skills.
-Assist Line manager to develop and maintain a Training Plan based on the needs of the organisation, lines/departments and individual employees;
-Develop and present applicable training material as per the requirements of the department on an ongoing basis
-Facilitate the On-Boarding process of new technical staff for the line
-Manage the delivery of technical training and development programmes;
-Ensure that statutory training requirements are met;
-Ensure accurate capturing of all training and development activities done at the factory;
-Amend and revise programmes together with the Training Officer in order to adapt to changes occurring in the work environment.
-Oversee and maintain all activities within the Skills & Development centre
Quality Assurance
-Maintain and adhere to quality standards at all times.
Continuous Improvement
-Identify gaps and route causes, present and implement corrective / measurable solutio
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
–Minimum: Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 with at least 5 years’ relevant boat building experience.
Ideal: YBB level 4
-Qualified Assessor
-Sound understanding of Quality Management and Continuous Improvement principles.
-Working knowledge and proficient in Carpentry and Reading of drawings
-Working knowledge and proficient in composites, infusion, gelcoat finishing
-Excellent working knowledge in MS Office Suite, i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
-Able to work overtime and under pressure.
